EICR TESTING

Just as a car requires an MOT,  it is important to have your electrics checked.  EICR testing ensures the reliability, safety and efficiency of an electrical installation. An EICR test determines the condition and safety of the wiring within your home or commercial property.

Over time, electrical installations naturally degrade, heightening the potential for hazardous situations. This risk escalates further when previous damage has occurred and received inadequate or unprofessional repair, or when amateur attempts at repairs have been made by individuals lacking proper electrical training. The Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) serves as a vital tool in ensuring that all electrical systems are not only safe but also reliable and operating at maximum efficiency.

It would be advised to have your home checked every 10 years.  If you are experiencing flickering lights, sparking, burning smells of socket issues you should have a EICR check carried out.

The Regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a qualified person at an interval of at least every 5 years.

PAT TESTING

PORTABLE APPLIANCE TESTING

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is a process used to assess the safety of electrical appliances and equipment that are intended to be portable, or can be moved from one location to another. This testing involves a series of visual inspections and electrical tests to check for any potential defects or faults that could pose a safety risk to users. The goal of PAT testing is to ensure that electrical appliances are safe to use and to prevent electrical accidents, such as electric shocks or fires, caused by faulty equipment.

Our qualified technicians will visit your workplaces, commercial buildings, rental properties, and other environments where electrical appliances are used and carry out the necessary inspections required. How often an appliance needs tested depends on the location and amount of use and guidance on this will be given upon contact.
